Happy Birthday, Honey! Today is your last flight here on this earthly place. You will be sent off on your flight to forever flying and fishing. I hold your certificate from the Department of Commerce Civil Aeronautics Administration Washington! It says you are an Airman... you have been my Pilot through life and I will always fly with you. I just miss you here on earth.

I have added a few photos of Arlington Cemetery WDC where Honey will be placed. We were happy to hear they have honored our request of May 30,2018 his Birthday! The same day 6 years ago when he was up here for Mother's service. The service will be full Military Honors with the firing of Arms. The service is for 2pm we are asked to gather no later than 1:30 at the Administrative Building. Cars will be allowed in when you say which service you are attending. More info closer to the date. Please let us know if you plan to attend. It is an amazing service! He can watch the planes fly over from where he will be... I know he will enjoy that!

I would like to thank everyone for your kind words here, and Thanks so much to all who came to the Celebration! Tomorrow Honey, Donald, takes his last flight from New Orleans to Washington DC in one of those metal winged birds that he loved working on and flying around in. He will wait for a time assigned from Arlington Cemetery where his earthly remains will be placed with Joyce. As soon as Arlington calls with a date I will inform you all here in this section. And Yes, there will be photos for those of you who can not attend his final sign off in Arlington.

Donald I'm happy to have known you if even for that short time. I enjoyed our visits and I loved to listen to your stories about your life. Thank you for always being so gracious and kind even though your life was nearing it's end. I will always remember you as one of my most favorite patients and it meant a lot to me that we became friends. I will miss you Donald! They don't make men like you anymore.
Love, Sherry

Uncle Honey, I will never forget the happiest day of my life when you swept me off my feet dancing so elegantly with me at my Wedding.
Still, to this day no one has compared to you!!
You are dearly missed, but I know that you are with Aunt Joyce Dancing the night away.

Donald, Honey you are so special, you always came to my rescue when something needed to be done. Some time you came because some idea came to your mind, and you came with your idea and went to work. I enjoyed all the wonderful visits to all of your various homes. You took such pride in your work and your home. I will always thank God for your friendship and your integrity which was unsurpassed. Sweet Dreams, Joyce.

Hi Honey, How's the fishing there? Thanks for all you taught me. I'll continue to say "That's not like Honey would do it." Whatever you did it was always perfect. Thank you for teaching me to tie my shoes the right way so they don't come untied. Why did you wait until I was 40? Every morning when I tie my shoes I think of you! Susan

We are saddened by the loss of our dear friend and neighbor, Don. We send our heartfelt condolences to Kim and John and the family. He was a loving and devoted husband to Joyce (whom we miss, also), and we know he missed her tremendously after her passing. He was such a blessing in our lives. He taught Hank a lot about keeping our patio plants alive and vibrant. Don was such a talented man, always taking time to help his neighbors with needed repairs, whether it was cars, boats, lawn mowers, etc. He was definitely a Jack-of-all-trades.
He loved the Bayou and never tired of the sport of fishing. Hank will definitely miss his fishing buddy. The guys who were part of the daily morning get-together to talk about world affairs and especially who could tell the best fishing tale, will surely feel the loss of his presence each day.
Don was a joy to all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
Don, we send our love and prayers with you.

Kim and John,
I never met your Father, but after meeting the two of you, and seeing the loyalty, love and commitment to his care, I know that he was an amazing Daddy. Thinking of both of you during this time. May your dear Father rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of knowing Honey, and I am all the better for it. He had a passion and level headedness that made spending time with him always a treat. Wether it was a nice afternoon relaxing on the porch, or fending off alligators on an upturned airboat in the middle of the swamp, he was always good company. I will miss him, and I hope his spirit carries on.
