Edgar J. Dupuy Jr., 96, born January 27, 1921 died Wednesday February 22, 2017.  Sonny was a native of New Orleans, the son of Edgar J. Dupuy Sr. of St. Gabriel, LA and Claire Alexander of Plaquemine LA.  He went to Our Lady Star of the Sea and Warren Easton, grew up around St. Roch Park with his many friends who called themselves the Avalons.  A veteran of world War II, he served in the Pacific Theatre on the Islands of Leyte, Mindora and Okinawa.  He always said the only heroes of WWII never came home. He worked for Southern Bell, South Central Bell, AT&T for 40 years.  A member of the Telephone Pioneers. Preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Maybelle Treuting.  Survived by their 3 children, Benny (Jan) Dupuy, Barbara Russo (Mike), and Bobby (Jami) Dupuy He had 8 Grandchildren, Michele and Brian Dupuy, dana, Amanda, Kristen, and Michael Russo, James Dupuy and Justin Gibson.  He also had 9 great Grandchildren.  The family will receive friends Thursday march 2, 2017 from 8 Am until 12:15 P.M. at Jacob Schoen & Son funeral home 3827 Canal St.  A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:15 P.M. with interment to follow in Hope Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers donations are requested to St. Pius X catholic Church 6666 Spanish Fort Blvd NOLA 70124 in Mr. Dupuy’s name.  Arrangements by JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME.
