Ila Kay Young of New Orleans passed away peacefully at home on June 16, 2017.  She was 94 ½  years old. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Brian Joseph Young, her mother Louise B. Richardson of Natchez Mississippi, sister Estelle V. Brown of Natchez, sister Claudia Fay Lewis of Memphis, brother Lloyd B. Bass of Waveland, Mississippi, grandson Dwayne Fremin, and daughter Mary Ann Trahan of New Orleans. She is survived by 2 daughters and 2 sons, Sandra Arnold of California and Dinah V. Young her devoted daughter who was her caregiver of 11 years.  Son Lloyd Newman of Alabama and son Bryant Joseph  Young of Hammond, LA.  9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  Ila Kay never met anyone whom she did not consider a friend.  A very giving, compassionate, and gentle soul.  She retired from Touro Infirmary after 24 years as cafeteria manager.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Dominic Church 775 Harrison Ave. New Orleans, LA Wednesday June 28 at 10 A.M.. Interment in St. Patrick #1 cemetery.  In lieu of flowers Masses are preferred.  Arrangements by JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME.  Condolences may be left at www.schoenfh.com.
