Joseph E. De Cuir, 85 died Tuesday, February 20, 2018. Mr. De Cuir was a native of New Orleans and resident of Pontchatoula for the past several years.
A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, A Fourth Degree Grand Knight of The Knights of Columbus. He was also  an active member of Resurrection Parish in New Orleans as Extraordinary Minister of  the Eucharist and choir member.   He received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from  Loyola University. He was employed by Schwegmann’s Supermarkets as the Chief Pharmacist of all Schwegmann Stores and retired after many years of service. Preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Marthet De Cuir, his parents,  Arthur Sidney De Cuir Sr. and Mary Rita Juge De Cuir, his siblings  Arthur Sidney De Cuir, Jr,  Ann Theresa Vonderhaar, George H. De Cuir, and Merrill Benjamin De Cuir.   He is survived by 2 sisters, Mary Myrle D. Van, and Gail Rose D. Main., 9 nephews and 12 nieces and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Friday, 2/23/18 at the Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home 3827 Canal St. from 7 P.M. until 10 P.M.
