Lori Ann Champagne Fayard, devoted wife, daughter, sister and friend, was called to heaven Saturday, November 25th after a long and valiant fight with brain cancer. She was 51. She was graduated from Salmen High School in Slidell and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from the University of New Orleans. She and her husband Kevin enjoyed LSU tailgating together and she loved socializing with friends and family dining out, attending the area’s many festivals and going on cruises. For 16 years she was known as the Tumor Terminator for her refusal to give in to the illness that dared slow her down, and would perform her “Bible Rap” declaring that she wore the “Whole Armor of God” (Ephesians 6:11) therefore “Evil Can’t Touch This”, for anyone who was interested. Lori was a parishioner of St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church in River Ridge. She is survived by her loving husband Kevin David Fayard and her two brothers Allen Charles Champagne III (Bonnie) of Slidell and Craig A. Champagne (Emily) of Leesville, LA. Also survived by her mother-in-law Sue Buehler Fayard, her father-in-law Frank Lionel Fayard, sister-in-law Wendy Fayard Scribner (Eric), much loved nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles and many, many friends. She was predeceased by her mother Gail Broussard Champagne and her father Allen Charles Champagne Jr. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Monday, December 4th at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic Church, 10021 Jefferson Highway, River Ridge at 11 AM followed by a celebration of her life at the Monsignor Bendix Life Center from noon to 3pm.
