LORRAINE MOREL BENINATO



Lorraine Morel Beninato, retired school teacher, passed away peacefully at home with

her family on April 26, 2017 at the age of 93. Preceded in death by her parents Edward J.

Morel and Noelie Pillot Morel and also preceded in death by her beloved husband of

66 years, Peter Bernard Beninato, Jr. Mother of Scott David Beninato (Sheila), Laurie

Beninato Hutchinson (Jimmy “HUTCH”), son–in–law C.J. Gallo and preceded in death

by her daughter Carmen Beninato Gallo.


Lorraine is also survived by grandchildren Christopher Gregory Ray, Natalie Gallo Lara

(Jay), Nicolle Beninato Savery, Bridget Andrea Beninato, Rachel Hutchinson Palliser

(Jeff) and Rebecca Beninato Hutchinson (Mario McDonald); great grandchildren

Gregory and Kristen Ray, Lauren, Miah and Cole Savery, and Brenden Beninato Hebert.


Lorraine was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Marine Corps League, Paul E.

Boyd Detachment 579, Ladies Auxiliary of the Military of the Purple Heart, Chapter

1955, the Spirit of the ’76 Daughters of the American Revolution and the New

Orleans Woman’s Club. She was also a volunteer of the WW II Museum.


The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to her wonderful

caregivers and family friends Joanne Decorte and Sue Haydel-Moustier, as well as

Central Home Health (Sharmaine) and Hospice Associates of New Orleans.
