The COVID-19 Funeral Assistance will provide up to $9000 in financial assistance for those who qualify for Covid-19 related funeral expenses.
The guidelines and details are being finalized. However, it will require an official death certificate that lists Covid-19 as a direct or indirect cause of death, along with funeral expense documents. Only one application per deceased individual is allowed and FEMA requests that the applicant wait until all expenses, both past and those anticipated in the future, are known before applying for the reimbursement. Now is the time to gather the documents needed to satisfy eligibility.
