Catherine Marguerite Schifano

Catherine G. Schifano passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Catherine was born on November 26, 1935, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She resided in Kenner, Louisiana for the last 42 years. Catherine was a devoted Catholic parishioner of Divine Mercy Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney J. Schifano Jr., her parents Frank Gulotta Sr. and Julia Caron Schambra, brothers Paul Gulotta and Frank Gulotta Jr. She leaves behind her five children, Sidney J. Schifano III (Peggy), Steven Schifano, Gary Schifano (Patricia), Katheryn Clark, and Paula Lindsey (Paul). 

She was the greatest Maw Maw to nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Catherine also had several nieces and nephews. She’ll be deeply missed by all. 

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 5 at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. New Orleans, La 70119. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, until Memorial Mass at 12:00 pm. A private burial for the family will be held that afternoon at Greenwood Cemetery.
