Charles W. Murret, D.D.S. passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the age of 92. Son of the late Charles F. (Dutz) Murret and Lillian Claverie. Husband of the late Mary McBride Murret. Companion for 15 years of the late Marie Mistrot Gregson. Father of Rohert C. Murret (Cindy) and the late Gary C. Murret. Brother of the late Joyce Murret O’Brien, the late Eugene J. Murret (Kathleen) of Denver, CO, John M. Murret (Mary Lynn) of Hattiesburg, MS and the late Marilyn W. Murret of New Orleans. Grandfather of Geoffrey K. Murret (Felicia) and great grandfather of Alec and Ava Murret, Slidell, LA. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends, Charles and Gayle Zewe, and their sons. Native of New Orleans, longtime resident of Chalmette, LA. Resident of LaPlace, LA since 2006. Graduate of Jesuit High School in 1947 where he participated in sports. A graduate of Loyola Dental School in 1954. Served as a Captain in the US Air Force Dental Corp during the Korean War. He practiced dentistry in Chalmette, LA for 38 years and retired in 1995. Lifetime sports fan. Avid lover of New Orleans history. Had a true passion for researching nine different family genealogies. President of St. Bernard Arabi Kiwanis Club in 1960. He built several family homes along with numerous rental properties. Relative and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass on Thursday, August 4th at 11 AM at Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St. New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will begin at 10 AM. Interment at St. Roch #2 Cemetery will follow the mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial masses and prayers may be offered in his name.
