It is with great sorrow we announce that Cynthia Marie Parche, 70, of New Orleans, passed away on February 20, 2024 in Kenner.

Visitation will be held from 10 am-12 pm on Tuesday, February 27th at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 6500 Kawanee Drive in Metairie. A mass will follow at 12:45 p.m.. Interment will follow at Cypress Grove Cemetery in New Orleans.  Arrangements are by Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home.

Cindy was born in New Orleans to Ruth and Erich Parche. She went to school at St. James Major. She graduated from the University of New Orleans with a degree in teaching.  She then began her teaching career at Mater Dolorosa in New Orleans, followed by many years at Our Lady of Prompt Succor in Chalmette. Hurricane Katrina brought her to St. Charles Borromeo, where she worked for 15 years before retiring. Cindy devoted over 40 years of her life to Catholic education. She was heavily involved in academic games throughout her teaching career– leading her teams to numerous city and national awards. Cindy was passionate about teaching and instilling a desire to learn into each one of her students with unique and creative ways of teaching. Even after retirement, Cindy stayed on at St. Charles Borromeo to continue running the academic games program. The only thing Cindy was more passionate about than teaching was her faith and devotion to the Catholic Church. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Philip Neri Catholic Church.

Cindy is preceded in death by her father Erich Parche, Sr., her mother Ruth Dayton Parche, her aunt Tessie Dayton, and her sister Jacklyn P. Levy.

Cindy is survived by her three brothers Gerald Parche (Carolyn), Erich Parche, Jr., and Brian Parche (Marie), her sister Jean Bono, seven nieces and nephews, a host of great nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends, as well as all of her former students.

In lieu of flowers, masses are preferred. The family of Cindy wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her St. Charles Borromeo Family for their support during this time.
