Frances Cacioppo

Frances Bileci Cacioppo passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the age of 105. 

She is survived by her children, Frances C. Frechou, Leon Cacioppo Jr (Toni), Lawrence Cacioppo (Jamie), and Stephen Cacioppo (Patti); her grandchildren Melissa Germain, Ann C. Drost (Will), Leon Cacioppo III, Alice C. Creaghan, Stephen Cacioppo (Tricia) and Brett Cacioppo; her eight great grandchildren and a great great grandchild due in a few months. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Leon Cacioppo Sr; parents Frank P. and Victoria LaCava Bileci; seven sisters Mary B. Montamat, Josephine B. Pellegrini, Alberta B. Gilmore, Antoinette B. Murry, Catherine B. Saaks, Rosemary B. Dean and Victoria B. Casadaban; and two brothers Albert Bileci Sr and Frank Bileci Sr. 

Frances was born on December 27, 1917 and spent her childhood living in the Faubourg Marigny area.  When Frances lost her father at the tender age of 18, she selflessly put her life on hold in order to help her mother raise her younger siblings.  She was simply adored by them as well as her many nieces and nephews.

Frances was so proud of her years working at Maison Blanche as a sales associate in Downtown New Orleans and even prouder of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered as kind, gentle and unconditionally devoted to her family.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday March 7, 2023 from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. with interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home.
