Gus Anthony Vallelungo

Gus A. Vallelungo passed away on December 6, 2022, at the age of 94.  He was born and lived in New Orleans and retired from Kaiser Aluminum Chemical Corporation.

Gus was the beloved husband of Joycelyn Gremar Vallelungo, loving father to Cheryl Minardi (Bill), and Bonnie McAskill (Neil), and grandfather to two granddaughters and three great granddaughters.

Mr. Vallelungo was the son of the late Alphonse Vallelungo and Mary D’Antoni Vallelungo.  He was the brother of Joseph Vallelungo and the late Peter, Mary Graffia, Katie Bananto, Eva Garey, Paul, Jacob, Alphonse, Rose Cimino, and Angela Menant.

Mr. Vallelungo loved fishing, crabbing and shrimping in and around New Orleans and, in his younger years, also raised canaries.

The family will receive friends Thursday, December 15th from 10:30 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St, New Orleans, 70119. A service will be celebrated at 12:00 P.M. in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel with interment to follow in St. Roch #2 Cemetery.
