Henry Michael Piedy

Henry Michael Piedy, 36 of Kenner, Louisiana passed away peacefully but unexpectedly at home on July 25, 2022. It is believed he was called home from a broken heart, having never recovered from the New Orleans Saints missing the 2021 Super Bowl. His sister Mavis believes that he passed away because he refused to watch Candyman 2 with her, due to a childhood trauma from Candyman 1 or to avoid his mother spilling oil on fresh $2 white tee shirts while selling fried chicken at the soccer field. 

He leaves behind an exceptionally messy room filled with so many caps and shoes that it will take a decade to sort through, in addition to his beloved family members: children, Henry Junior and Aaliyah, parents, Eda and Marco Piedy and siblings, Mavis and Marco Piedy.

He was deeply involved with the Isrealites, ISUPK and known to his brothers as Sarad, meaning Survivor. He was a man who served the Most High with everything in him as a strong warrior of God. He taught His words and was a passionate speaker.

He was known for his kind heart, as a gracious giver and for spoiling games by texting score lines. He was gentle until you messed with his mom. He loved chicken wings, driving his cab and was always working hard to get ahead. He will be missed during flex contests with his nephew, Erik Piedy and neighbors will miss his screams for his mother during street tag with his nephew, Kaleb Webster. His niece Isabella will miss vigorously squeezing and kissing him with affection. He had an infectious laugh and a bright smile (if he ever chose to show it). He loved winning and had a competitive nature, so it is only fitting he would be first to heaven to ensure a soccer venue and await his family, who all miss him dearly. Who Dat.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at 1:15 PM on Sunday, August 7, 2022 in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
