Herbert Francis Devezin Jr

Herbert Francis Devezin Jr, of New Orleans, La passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the age of 64. Herbert, fondly known as Big Herb or Twink, knew at an early age the importance of having God in his life. He was a devoted member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Throughout his adult life, he earned many accolades and kept on pursuing different degrees in his field of Engineering. He has worked for many companies including Delta Towers, Xavier University, Dillard University, George Mason University, Waler Reed Medical Center, etc. Herb was a very well loved man that had such a zest for life and some of his favorite past times were: Mardi Gras, Saints football games, family time, festivals, food and all genres of music. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his son Herbert Francis Devezin III, (Lindsey); his daughter, Yahki Idriemeka Jones-Clay, (Brian); devoted mother of his children, Sheleta Jones; lifelong companion of 23 plus years, Vangie Moffett; two sisters, Verna Devezin Palmer and Pamela Devezin Tucker; six grandchildren, Haleesi, Liam Saint, Saniyah, Jesse, Tyrante, Idriemeka, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alma and Herbert Devezin, Sr. and one daughter, Yashanta. Family and Friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Monday, February 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, La. Family request guest to wear their favorite black and gold attire in Herbert's honor.
