Tribute

It is with great sadness that the family of John Michael “Mike” DiDomenico announces his passing on August 6, 2018 at the age of 67 years old. He was born at Westover Air Force Base, MA and was a long time resident of Gretna, Louisiana after moving here to work with the 926th Fighter Wing, Air Force Reserves, at the Naval Air Station New Orleans in Belle Chasse.  He served the Air Force a total of 35 years retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8) in February 2005.  He also worked for a few years part time for Stratus Systems in Belle Chasse.  He was preceeded in death by his parents, John S. DiDomenico of St. Petersburg, FL and Betty Lane DiDomenico of Panama City, FL and a brother, Ronald Lane DiDomenico of
Paisley, FL.  He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Holly K. DiDomenico, son Anthony M. DiDomenico of Harvey and April DiDomenico Nutt (Jeremiah) of Katy, TX and grandchildren, Alyssa, Emily and Jeremiah, Jr.  Also, survived by his sister Carol DiDomenico Dick (Phillip) of Aptos, CA and Robert L. DiDomenico (Elna) of Temecula, CA.  He loved to play and watch golf and had won several championships while on active duty in the Air Force and in New Orleans area and he enjoyed cooking, traveling and working on those endless household jobs.  He was loved and will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans at 1:30 pm on August 18, 2018.  Visitation will be from 11:30 am until the time of the service.  Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.  Donations can be made in lieu of flowers in his honor to the Wounded Warrior project at www.woundedwarriorproject.com .
