John Lulich, Jr. born April 26, 1927 passed away peacefully on July 9, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father John Lulich, Sr. and immigrant from Igranie, Crotia, his mother, Katie Saltalamachia Lulich, of New Orleans, his sister Madeline L. Boudousquie (Bud), and son William Kenneth Lee (Diane). Survived by the love of his life for 44 years, Carol R. Lulich, his son John Lulich III (Ellen), daughters Pauline Lulich Lee, Jean R. Lulich, Stepchildren Douglas E. Lee and Rebecca Jahn Colling (Wes), Grandchildren Scott K. Lee(Leah), John Lulich IV (Inika), Pauline A. Cook, Douglas E. Lee, Jr and six great-grandchildren. He was a 1944 graduate of Jesuit high School and a US Navy Veteran who served his country proudly during WWII. Following his honorable discharge from the US Navy he attended Tulane University for two years before pursuing a career in business. Lulich was well known for Custom creations of wedding cakes, created a welding business (Southern Industrial Sales), and ultimately started a successful career as a fabricator/distributor in the reinforcing steel business. His slidell, LA based business (Lulich Steel Corporation) expanded to include locations in Alexandria, LA, Milton, Fl, and Longview, TX. His business was sold to a joint venture between Nucor and Ambassador Steel Corporations in 2005 at which time he retired. After retirement he enjoyed spending time traveling with his wife and family. He was an avid horse racing fan and enjoyed the company of the many friends he made at his “Gentilly Office”, better known as the New Orleans fairgrounds. Funeral Services were held privately with immediate family. In lieu of flowers donations should be made to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105-1942
