A loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to those who really will miss her. Loretta Huton was born October 23, 1934 in New Orleans, LA to the loving parents of the late Mrs. Leona Mitchell and the late Mr. Frank Johnson, Sr. Loretta was married to the late Lawrence Hutton, to this union 4 daughters were born. On June 10, 2021 at the age of 86 years old, our beloved Loretta Hutton transitioned from this life to eternal rest. The beautiful Loretta presence shall be missed by many and we shall never have another like her cause she is one of a kind.
Loretta enjoyed family gatherings, going to church, cooking and listening to music. She was a dedicated worker for the Schoen family. She was a nanny, cook, housekeeper and so much more. Loretta was a strong and loving woman, when her daughter Debra passed away, she took her 5 grand kids and raised them as her own until they were grown.
Loretta joined Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Marvin Turner until the end of his pastorship, she continued her membership at Mt. Ararat Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Wallace Smith, Jr.
Loretta Hutton leaves to cherish her memories are her daughter, Loretta Hutton, 23 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and plenty great, great grand kids and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Frank Johnson, Sr., her mother Leona Mitchell, her husband Lawrence Joseph Hutton and 3 daughters: Mary Lee Smith, Debra Ann Williams and Alice Mae Hutton, 3 brothers: Joseph Johnson, Lawrence Johnson and Frank Johnson, Jr., 3 sisters: Theresa Johnson, Alice Mae Johnson and Elnora Johnson, 3 grandsons: Robert Smith, Dennis Williams and Stevie Smith and 1 great grandson, Devin Hutton. Life on this side is not eternal, but the moments shared in love is forever cherished. She will be forever loved and missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 11:00 AM in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119. The Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor Wallace Smith, Jr. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
