Luther Everette McGehee Jr.

On Sunday, November 4, 2018, Everett McGehee, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 80.  A native of New Orleans, Everett graduated from Warren Easton. Everett owned and operated several dry cleaners throughout the New Orleans area. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, June Gibson McGehee; his three children, Lori McGehee Lenfant (Warren), Kerry McGehee (Karen), Craig McGehee (Paula); his eight grandchildren; Jennifer Wright (Eddie), Warren Lenfant III, Benjamin Lenfant (Caroline), Gabriella Konechne (Chas), Lauren McGehee (Justin), Craig McGehee, Jr., Alex McGehee (Shirley), Cory McGehee; his five great grandchildren Fiona Wright, Keela Wright, Giuseppe Konechne, Patria Wright and Chip Konechne; brother in law Jay Gibson, Aunt Effie Cambre and Aunt Luel Lodato. He is preceded in death by his parents, Luther McGehee and Addie West.Everett was an avid Mardi Gras participant, he was a member of The Krewe of Pontchartrain and a Riding Lieutenant in The Krewe of Bacchus. Everett enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending time with his family. Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass on Friday, November 9, 2018 at St. Luke The Evangelist Catholic Church at 910 Cross Gates Boulevard Slidell, LA 70461. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by the Memorial Mass at 11:00 am. JACOB SCHOEN & SON in charge of arrangements.
