Mae Hingle Frey

On March 5th, our little Energizer Bunny received her angel wings. Mae was born on May 22 1922 in Nero, Louisiana and how blessed we were to celebrate her 100th birthday on May 22, 2022. She was preceded in death by her one love, her late husband, John J. Frey, whom she was married for 70 years.

Mae is survived by four daughters: Beverly McKay, Kathleen Garmany, Barbara Calvo, and Debra Lundardini (John). She was a beloved Maw Maw to her grandchildren: Christine Boles (Chris), Brian McKay (Analisa), John Garmany, Suzanne Aucoin (Michael), Kevin McKay, Christopher Maher, Patrick Calvo (Stephanie) and Michael Calvo. Mae was also blessed with twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Elise and Wilkes Hingle and her siblings: Clarence Hingle, Ethel Hingle, Winnie Siemann, Doris Eames, and Bernard Hingle.

Mae was a loving and generous mother, sister, Maw Maw and friend. She was a wonderful cook, an avid Saints fan, a very very lucky bingo player and she loved playing cards with her family. She was an active member and served as President of the VFW Post 3346 Auxillary.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 12:00 p.m. followed by a Mass at 1:00 p.m. at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans. Arrangements under the direction of Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home.
