Mary Jane Strom

Mary Jane Strom departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the blessed age of 90. Mary Jane, lovingly known as Aunt Jane or Nanny, was born and raised in New Orleans,

moving to Harahan following Katrina to live with her niece.  She retired from Borden’s on Airline Hwy after 33 years of service.  Mary Jane is preceded in death by her father, John Strom, mother, Bertha Strom, her sister, Doris

Galliano and niece, Nancy Galliano.  She will lovingly be remembered by her niece, Peggy Galliano, great-nephew, Carl Cook and great niece, Nanci Cook Douglas (Shay Douglas), Fritz and Gretel.  Mary Jane was a devoted “Nanny” to them all and will be

greatly missed.  Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at 1:30 PM on Friday, June 25, 2021 in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
