Tribute

Michael Charles Bevis, beloved husband of Kathleen Flynn Bevis, passed away surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted father of Eileen Bevis Bennett and Lauren Bevis Thompson and father-in-law of Nathan Thompson. He was the proud grandfather of Tyler, Paul and Luke Bennett and Louis and Kathleen Thompson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Stanford Bevis and Irma Latina Bevis. Mike was the son-in-law of Jennie Flynn Sauviac and the late Donald Flynn. He was the brother-in-law of Karen McCoy (Ray), Keely Lambert (Kenneth), and Kenneth Flynn (Colleen O’Malley). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his wonder dog, Beignet.

Mike graduated from the University of New Orleans. He proudly served five years active duty as a Captain and helicopter pilot in the U.S. Air Force stateside and overseas in Thailand. Then he began a successful career in pharmaceutical and manufacturer’s sales. Some of his great loves were fishing on his boat, cooking delicious meals for his family and friends, tending to his beautiful garden and smoking cigars on his back patio over great conversation and laughter. Mike was a giving person whose final act of generosity was donating his remains to the LSU Medical School for the purpose of education and research.
