Peyton Evelyn Perritt

April 4, 2023 ~ May 25, 2023

Tribute

Just seven weeks after coming into this world, Peyton Evelyn Perritt joined her father, Matthew Roger Perritt in heaven. His passing was just eleven days prior, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. She arrived at 1:31pm on April 4th and passed away peacefully in the NICU unit of Ochsner Baptist Hospital in New Orleans, LA on May 25th. We find solace in the belief that Peyton and Matthew are together, watching over us from heaven. Although her time with us was brief, she touched the lives of many and was deeply loved by all who had the privilege of meeting her.

Peyton was able to grip her mother’s finger and coo ever so softly. She was born with a full head of hair just like her mother, and with a face that closely resembled her father’s, she bore the imprint of his love.  Despite the hardships she faced from birth, she inspired us with her strength and determination.
Peyton’s journey, though marked by challenges, has left an indelible mark on our hearts. She may have faced hardships in the NICU, but her spirit shone bright. Now, free from suffering, she rests in a better place, in the loving embrace of her father, Matthew.

In addition to Matthew, Peyton joins her great-grandparents, Paul and Sandra Dours, Maurice and Pat Heath, Diane Rodercka Perritt and her great-great “granny” Evelyn Casrill, after whom she was named.  She leaves behind her grieving mother Brooke Dours, her grandparents Brian and Patricia Dours and Roger Perritt. Also, her aunts and uncles, Paul and Anne Dours, Frankie and Judy Mouney and Christina Perritt. As well as her many cousins.

A visitation will take place at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home at 1:30 pm on Thursday, June 8. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate nurses and doctors of the NICU unit of Ochsner Baptist Hospital.  Their kindness and unwavering support during this difficult time will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating in Peyton’s name to Savannah Smiles, a charitable organization based in Slidell, LA.
