Rex McLennon DuPont

Rex McLennon DuPont passed away on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at the age of 55. He was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey on October 1, 1963 to the late Robert and Cornelia DuPont. Rex was the youngest of four children and grew up in Haddon Heights, NJ. He attended Haddon Heights High School and Rutgers University in New Jersey. His career took him to Boston, MA, Long Island, NY, Cary, NC, Oklahoma City, OK then eventually to Gretna, LA as a manager at Paychex. Rex embraced the New Orleans culture, was a Saints season ticket holder and joined Morpheus, a Mardi Gras Krewe. Rex was outgoing and had a wide circle of friends including many childhood friends. He enjoyed collecting sports memorabilia, various styles of music, shooting darts, a good practical joke, visiting the Outer Banks in NC and his dog, Bodie, his constant and faithful companion. Christmas was his favorite holiday, he had seven Christmas trees and he loved giving gifts. Rex had a bigger than life personality and was always the life of the party. Above all, he loved his family and friends. We will honor Rex by remembering his light-hearted spirit, dry humor, and his love of life. He is survived by his brothers Tim DuPont (Pat), Robert DuPont (Leann), sister Eva Murray (Charlie) and nieces and nephews Scott, Sean (Jil), Robert (Sarah), Jon (Courtney), Tanya, Jenna (Matt) and Shane as well as many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial service will be arranged at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to American Diabetes Association.
