Ruth Green Patterson

Ruth Green Patterson went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 25, 2023. She was born in Vidalia, LA to Sadie Moore Green. She attended public schools in Vidalia, LA and Winnsboro, LA and she attended Grambling University in Grambling, LA. Ruth was a Technician and Manager in Food Services in the Orleans Parish School System for many years. Serving God, her church and helping others was her mission. She never wavered from serving the Lord nor from lending a helping hand to anyone in need.   She loved plants, cooking and shopping. Ruth was preceded in death by her mother, the late Sadie Moore Green, and her husband, the late Warren Patterson, and recently three cousins, the late Rev. Deacue Fields, the late Rev. Hall Fields, and the late Rev. Paul Fields. She is survived by three first cousins, Wanda Harrison, Rev. Warren Moore, and Shirley Moore; a godchild, Corey Lewis; and a host of cousins and friends. Relatives, friends of the family, and members of St. Joseph C. B. C. are invited to attend her Celebration of Life at St. Joseph Congregational B. C., 7731 Olive Street, New Orleans, LA 70125 on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., Rev. Marc A. Napoleon, Sr., officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment: Providence Memorial Park and Mausoleum, 8200 Airline Hwy., Metairie, LA 70003. Due to COVID-19, everyone attending is instructed to wear a mask.
