Salvador “Brian” Bavido was called home to God’s Kingdom on November 17, 2021, at age 61, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 17, 1960, in New Orleans, LA and currently resided in Slidell, LA. Son of Carolyn Weixel Medley & Husband Dale, and the late Samuel Anthony Bavido.
Brian is survived by his wife Laura Landers Bavido, son Salvador Bavido and daughter Amy Bavido. He leaves behind a sister Christie Bavido Salaun & husband Kenneth, and a brother Samuel A. Bavido, Jr. & wife Chaillie, as well as three nieces Gabrielle Salaun, Mia Bavido and Mira Bavido. He will be dearly missed by his entire family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless number of friends.
Brian achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, graduated from Ecole Classique High School in 1977 and attended the University of New Orleans for two years thereafter. He was a partner with his father and brother at SSS Construction and worked as a carpenter, hydraulic technician & job foreman. Following his years at SSS, he worked as a Hydraulic Mechanic & Dock Door Technician for Block-Dickson Inc. in Harahan for over 20 years until his retirement.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation beginning at 10:00AM on Monday, November 29, 2021, at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street New Orleans, LA 70119 followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:15 PM in the J.
