Merle Burger Behrens, age 92, passed away on June 16, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was predeceased by her husband Jacob Charles Behrens Jr. and her parents, Mabel Katie Burger and Charles Jacob Burger. She is survived by her children: Susan Catherine Behrens, Jacob Charles Behrens III (Nancy), Merle Ann Behrens Bethea (Gus), Anthony J. Behrens (Dina), Jane Behrens Abba (Donald) and Dean Carl Behrens (Libby). Maw Maw is survived by her grandchildren: Jeremy, Tave, Donald, Narissa, Charlie, Anthony, Ian, Natasha, Jacob, Jesse and her great-grandchildren: Alexis, R.J., Kaylei, Jeremy Jr. and Chloe. Merle is also survived by her sister Lorraine Burger Maronge. She enjoyed her life in Lake St. Catherine fishing every chance she could. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 12:15 pm on Saturday, June 17, 2017 in the J. Garic Schoen chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am and continue until Mass time.
