Mr. Pete as we called him was a great person and a friend to our family. My dad Milton Sr. farmed next door to Glendale plantation on the St. Charles parish side. We operated a small, in comparison, sugar cane farm. Mr. Pete and his brother Mr. Denny were always willing to lend a hand when needed. He will be in my thoughts and prayers. The last time I talked to him was after 7:00 A M mass in Hahnville a while back and even though he had not seen me for some time he greeted me in the same friendly, respectful manner as he always did.
