Doris B Bayhi

Doris B. Bayhi, beloved wife of the late Walter C. Bayhi, Jr. passed peacefully in the presence of family at 10:38 a.m. on Thursday, December 13, at the age of 91.  Born March 16, 1927 in New Orleans, a graduate of Sacred Heart of Jesus, a long time representative of Avon. Our Mom, was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Hilda Berthelson (MaMa & PaPa), her sister Beryl Enright and brother Fred Berthelson, Jr.  She was the mother of five, Chuck (Joanie), Judy Mayhall, Shelley Hoppe (Gary Sr.), Terri and Janine; Grandmother (GiGi) to Craig Lovelace, Leslie Hymel, Hollie DuMars , Gary Hoppe, Jr, Lacey Becker and Heather O'Neill. The loving great-grandmother of sixteen children, Emma, Jake, Josh, Victoria, Trey, William, Zoë, Sean, Blaine, Vivienne, Elle, Nick, Lauren, Rebecca, Jamie,and Cody.
  She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.  She will also be sadly missed by her precious dachshund, Oscar. The family wants to especially send our thanks to the staff at Ochsner Hospital, Serenity Sr. Living and the Sanctuary at Passages Hospice for taking such good care of our Mom for the last few months of her life.   Family and friends are welcome to attend the visitation on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Jacob Schoen & Son, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, from 8:30 a.m. til 11:00 a.m., followed by a Mass at St. Benilde Catholic Church, 1901 Division Street in Metairie, with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans. She had a very strong faith in our Lord.  Was the quiet strength behind our family with a fierce loyalty to family.  We will miss your loving spirit very much Mom, give Daddy a hug for all of us. ARRANGEMENTS BY JACOB SCHOEN & SON FUNERAL HOME.
