Dorothy Rita Duplessie Descant, 93 years old, went home to the Lord at her residence on November 11, 2018. Dorothy was born on December 5, 1924 to the late Frances Algero Duplessie and the late Frederick Duplessie, Sr. She was the beloved wife of the late Mark Descant, Sr. and loving mother of the late infant Mark Descant, Jr. In her younger years she worked at Higgins Boats where she appeared on the cover of their magazine for selling the most war bonds during the war. She was a lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA and lived in the Mid City area. Dorothy attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. For the past 13 years she has resided in Pearl River, LA with her niece and nephew in law, Jeannette and Marion Perry. She is preceded in death by her parents Frances and Frederick Duplessie, Sr., her husband Mark Descant, Sr., 4 day old infant son Mark Descant, Jr., her sisters, Marie K. Palmisano (Frank) and Florence D. Taylor (Marvin), her brother Frederick Duplessie Jr., niece Veda K. Baudin (Ira) and great nephew Michael A. Baudin, Sr. Dorothy is survived by niece Jeannette K. Perry (Marvin), JoAnn Riego, Patricia D. Patchero and Mary Ann Dubrock. Great aunt of Deborah A. Baudin, Frances C. La France, Frederick M. Baudin, Julie B. Giangrosso and Michael Loupe. She is also survived by numerous great, great & great, great, great nephews and nieces. She was known and loved as Aunt Del, Dottie, Dot, Ki-Ki, Keets and Do-Rita. A heartfelt thank you goes to her physicians, Dr. Rizwan Aslam, Dr. Allen Calabresi and Dr. Michael Casey; The Pearl River Sheriff’s Office, Coroner’s Office and EMT’s, Ms. Debbie Singletary, Alberd Hollie and Trish Blackwell. Thank you to the staff of Jacob Schoen & Son for the kindness given to her family during this difficult time. There will be a Visitation on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Friday, November 16, 2018 from 8:30 am until Mass time. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday, November 16, 2018 in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA. Rev.
