Odile Grosz Schmidt

Odile St.Martin Grosz Schmidt, 65, died on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at her home after a 36-year battle with full-body Rheumatoid Arthritis. Odile was a lifelong resident of the New Orleans area. She attended F. T. Howard #1 and Sacred Heart schools and was in the first graduating class of Seton Academy. She attended UNO and later received an American Banking Institute certification. She attended Our Lady of Divine Providence Catholic Church. She was a clerk in the Wire Transfer department of Hibernia National Bank and CapitalOne and then for Soileau and Associates, Inc. as a Billing Clerk. Prior to CoVID she enjoyed meeting friends at Elmwood Fitness Center with her daughter Katie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis B. Grosz, Sr. and Odile St.Martin Grosz; and her brother, William A. “Bill” Grosz. She is survived by her daughter, Katherine S. Schmidt; her brothers Francis B. Grosz, Jr., Shelby P. Grosz, Sr. (Linda), Richard E. Grosz and Frederic L. Grosz; her niece Sarah T. Grosz; and nephews Shelby P. Grosz, Jr. (Andrea) and Brandon F. Grosz (Hillary). A memorial remembrance of her life will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 5 PM until 8 PM at Jacob Schoen Funeral Home, 3827 Canal St., New Orleans, LA 70119.
