Peter was a proud graduate of Jesuit High School (’52) where he was awarded both the Reverend Father President’s Spiritual Leadership Award and the McEnerny trophy. He served in the Army National Guard Reserve and graduated from the Loyola University School of Law (‘58) where he received his Juris Doctor, after which he began his law career spanning nearly 50 years. During his career he served as counsel for the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Louisiana, and in private practice both as a solo practitioner and as a partner in several firms.
Peter dedicated his life to God and spent it doing His work by being a part of numerous organizations such as the Milne Boys Home, YMCA, Associated Catholic Charities, and teaching CCD and scripture. He received several awards and accolades throughout his lifetime for his volunteerism and leadership. One of his greatest joys was being ordained as a Permanent Deacon with the Archdiocese of New Orleans in December 1987 and sharing his spiritual life with others for over 25 years. He served at St. Maria Goretti Church and with the Matrimonial Tribunal of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. He was honored to serve at the Papal Mass alongside Pope John Paul II on the New Orleans Lakefront.
Peter was an amazing person who loved his wife and family unconditionally, and his devotion to God and family were unmatched. His whole purpose in life was AD MAJOREM DEI GLORIAM-For the Greater Glory of God.
