Robert Howard Bird

Robert Howard Bird, Bob, age 73, died April 1st, 2024, in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Native to Madera, CA for the past 44 years where he loved spending time with his family and working with wood.  Fifty-eight years ago, in his teens, he began working at his father’s Fresno Orthopedic Company.  He retired from Orthopedics at the age of 66 and began to work at Lowe’s because he loved helping people.

To celebrate his 73rd birthday and 52nd wedding anniversary, Bob and his wife Sue enjoyed a weeklong Mississippi River cruise.  A lifelong dream of his, fulfilled. 

He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart Sue Bird, his brother John Bird, his daughters Jennifer Manter and Christy Bird-Rodgers, his sons-in-law Evan Manter and Brandon Rodgers, and grandchildren Leah, Kylee and Corbin.  Bob is preceded in death by his parents Orvel and Alberta, and sister Mary and brother Jim.

Bob was loved by a multitude of family and friends and will be greatly missed.
