Richard Walter Brune, age 72, formerly of New Orleans, LA passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at his home in Newnan surrounded by family. He was born on October 30, 1944 in New Orleans, LA to the late Lawrence Claude Brune and Ellen Clarke Brune.
Richard was a former treasurer of the city of New Orleans as well as a past commander of the New Orleans Power Squadron.
Along with his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his nephew Michael David Brune. He is survived by his wife, Ann Plaier Brune; brother, David L. Brune and his wife Madeline Foret Brune; nephew Gregory L. Brune and his wife Jenee` Brune and great nieces Ramey Michelle Brune and Addison Grace Brune.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Catholic Service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 in the J. Garic Schoen Chapel of JACOB SCHOEN & SON, 3827 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70119. Burial will immediately follow the service at Hope Mausoleum. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 6-9 pm and again on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Richard's name to Saint Joseph Abbey & Seminary College, 75376 River Road, St. Benedict, LA 70457.
